The iLiad Book Edition eBook reader has a couple different features that make it stand out in a crowd. The interactive touchscreen is probably one of the best features on this version of the iLiad. But it definitely works to make your electronic book reading as simple as possible.
The iLiad book edition comes with 50 books pre-loaded. iRex technologies says these are “some of the best books ever written”. We think it’s fairly subjective what could be considered the best books ever written, but it’s still pretty cool that it automatically comes with 50 books. The internal memory that comes on the device is limited. The iLiad needs additional memory cards to really hold any kind of content.
We liked the touchscreen display. Like other iRex eBook readers, the screen of the iLiad is highly interactive, letting you make handwritten notes with the stylus. The iLiad comes with a program called MyScript Notes that will convert your handwritten notes into digital text.
The battery life only goes for 15 hours, so it limits you to charging it every day. That can be a hassle especially when you’re traveling.
Far more expensive than many of the other eBook readers on the market, the iLiad book edition doesn’t offer many new features that compensate for the price. However, it does work well if you’re just interested in an eBook reader and not doing much else with the device.
The iLiad book edition comes preloaded with 50 eBook classic titles. You can also download books to your PC via mobipocket.com and then transfer it to the iLiad.
You can contact iRex technologies on their support page. Or you can download PDF files about FAQs and general knowledge articles.
The iLiad book edition does just what its name implies, it makes it easy to read books electronically. A couple new features, like the MyScript Notes software give you a little bit of flexibility in how you use the device, but the lack of features does make it difficult to justify spending $600 on it.
